It started with a meh feeling. Very quickly, this morphed into an itch for a different life. The itch became thirst, then hunger, then it was out of control. I wanted more, better, next. I daydreamed about different, but I couldn’t see it.
Strange. The call for different was so potent, but at the same time it was vague. What exactly did different mean? What did I have to do to get it? I had no clue, because no option resonated strongly enough.
And I considered everything. At some point, I was close to getting trained to become a certified gas fitter (yep, someone with a social science background) … all for the sake of different.
But no option felt “me enough”. I couldn’t get internal signal. And then, next time I looked, I was six years deep into an endless fall down a cliff: the kind of midlife crisis that strips you of every marker of orientation.
My sense of usefulness, capability, and independence — gone. Every part of me that had once felt competent was suddenly out of reach.
And every day that passed made it harder to believe there was a way out.
The frustration and impatience were so high, that some days I could barely wait for the traffic light to change before I crossed the road. Any kind of waiting made me want to run ahead, fast. Waiting and static hurt.
Nothing resonated anymore. Not even I resonated with myself. I remember sitting there thinking:
“How do you rescue yourself when you no longer feel like yourself?”
What I wanted more than anything was to feel like me again — solid, capable, resourceful. But that version of me wasn’t answering.
I hit rock bottom, and stayed there for a long time. It was in that space where, organically but in a very disorganised way, I started to do the work that would later become The Coded Keys to Self-Rescue.
Let’s make the story short: Different was inside me. I saw it, I owned it, and it emerged: beautiful, honest, extraordinary.

Stuck in a midlife crisis?
Sometimes we’re desperate for a change of lanes in life, but we’re just not moving.
The reason why I couldn’t change into any lane, except the one I was stuck in – is because a smarter part of me didn’t let me.
There’s a wiser system inside us that checks for safety before we change lanes in life. And if there’s something in the blind spot, it won’t let you move – because it’s dangerous.
Because if you moved now, you would crash into the moving objects in the blind spot: patterns of override, old distortions, and incomplete maps for life. Things that are dangerously close to you, but you still can’t see them.
That trapped feeling, that frustrating sense of “I can’t move forward, but I can’t go back either” isn’t just dysfunction. It’s intelligence. It’s the wiser part of you saying:
“Why don’t you stay here for a bit, until the stuff in the blind spot catches up with you and you can see it clearly?”

I’m not in “midlife”. Is this still right for me?
Yes. The Coded Keys is designed to guide you through an identity crisis – your age doesn’t matter. If you feel lost, stuck, or far from yourself, the course helps you reconnect with your inner resourcefulness.
How long does the course last?
There’s no set duration. The Coded Keys has 3 modules, but that doesn’t mean you can finish in 3 days (and it’s better if you don’t). It can take you 3 weeks or 3 months, depending on how deep you choose to go.
How much time will I need to commit?
The more, the better. The course materials include 100+ pages of exercises and reflection prompts. Some exercises only require a 5-10 minute daily check-in; others ask for longer reflection or journaling sessions.
Do I need to do every exercise to see results?
No. Choose the exercises that resonate most with you, but do them consistently. Small, repeated actions create profound change over time.
How is the course delivered?
This is a fully online course. Once you join, you’ll receive an email with the link to your account, and you can go through the content at your own pace.
Will there be live sessions?
The Coded Keys is a self-study course, so no live sessions are planned at this time.
Can I do this alongside therapy or other support?
Absolutely. This course complements therapy or coaching and you’ll find it enhances the insights you gain from other forms of support, but it’s not a replacement for professional mental health care.
